Bangladesh’s former cricket captain, Tamim Iqbal, was rushed to the hospital after experiencing severe chest pain during a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match on March 24, 2025. Tamim, who was leading Mohammedan Sporting Club against Shinepukur Cricket Club, participated in the toss but soon after complained of discomfort and was immediately taken to a specialized hospital in Savar for medical evaluation.

Medical Diagnosis and Emergency Procedure

Doctors discovered a significant arterial blockage, prompting an angiogram followed by an angioplasty procedure. A stent was inserted to restore blood flow, and the procedure was deemed successful. Tamim’s condition was stabilized post-surgery, and he remains under close observation in the Coronary Care Unit (CCU).
