China Signals Strategic Shift at WTO Amid US Trade Pressure
In a noteworthy development, China has replaced its veteran WTO trade representative Li Chenggang with Li Yongjie, amid intensifying trade frictions with the United States. The personnel change occurs as Washington steps up tariff threats and Beijing enforces tighter export controls on critical minerals—a move that has raised fresh fears of supply-chain decoupling.
Observers interpret the switch less as a routine reshuffle and more as a deliberate recalibration of China’s trade-diplomacy posture. For Pakistan and other emerging economies, the evolving US–China trade axis underscores the urgency of rethinking bilateral and regional trade strategies. The world is entering a phase where economic interactions are increasingly entwined with strategic ambitions—and positioning now may determine long-term dividends.

پاکستانی نقطۂ نظر سے یہ وقت ہے کہ ہم تجارتی حکمتِ عملی پر نظر ثانی کریں، کیونکہ اس نئی عالمی ترتیب میں ہمیں اپنا حصہ بٹھانا ہوگا۔
