Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) fast bowler Mayank Yadav has suffered a setback in his recovery from a back injury due to a new toe injury. Head coach Justin Langer confirmed that while Yadav was making progress, this fresh injury has delayed his return. However, Langer remains optimistic that the young pacer could still feature in the latter stages of the IPL 2025 season.

LSG’s Injury Woes in the Fast-Bowling Department

As LSG gears up for their IPL 2025 campaign, they are grappling with multiple injuries in their fast-bowling unit. Alongside Mayank Yadav, three other key Indian pacers are currently sidelined:

• Mohsin Khan – Picked up a calf injury during rehabilitation and has been replaced by Shardul Thakur.

• Avesh Khan – Recovering from a knee issue, with his return dependent on clearance from the National Cricket Academy (NCA).

• Akash Deep – Battling a back injury but has resumed bowling at 90% intensity, pending full fitness assessment.

Coach Justin Langer acknowledged the difficulties posed by these injuries, emphasizing that fast bowling often brings challenges, but the team must adapt and move forward.

Mayank Yadav burst onto the scene in IPL 2024, impressing with his 150+ km/h pace and earning multiple Player-of-the-Match awards.
